Beatrix Montanile
Beatrix MontanileFounder & Head Instructor

Beatrix has been a yoga practitioner for over 35 years and an instructor for 18 years. She is passionately committed to making a difference in people’s lives through the healing powers of yoga.

Beatrix received her extensive yoga training from extraordinary masters in India and holds certification in Ashtanga Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Thai Yoga Massage and Ayurvedic Massage.

She has appeared on local and international television and featured in several yoga and health/fitness journals.

During one of her regular sojourns to India in 2008, she was first introduced to the remarkable effects derived from suspended inverting through the use of cotton ropes.

Having been a chronic back-pain sufferer for most of her life due to a fractured neck as a result of a horse back riding accident, she was enormously impressed by how quickly her back pain disappeared after having suspended only a few times!

Once back in Canada, she continued to experiment with this new approach to practicing yoga and developed her own brand of suspension equipment; the YogiGym®.  She has since developed literally hundreds of ways of using the YogiGym® Suspension Sling to advance not only the more challenging yoga poses but also applying it to many other movement and fitness modalities as well such as body-weight training, restorative spinal therapy, prenatal yoga and even physiotherapy.  This hybrid movement modality is known as Suspension Yoga™.

In 2010 she introduced the first aerial Suspension Yoga™ group classes in the world and on September 17, 2011 opened the doors of The Flying Yogi studio.  The Flying Yogi became internationally recognized for its world-class Suspension Yoga™teacher training programs.  In 2021, Beatrix created The Flying Yogi Training Academy as a virtual teacher training platform to make it possible for students anywhere in the world to become trained in the Arts and Sciences of classical, contemporary and Suspension Yoga™.

Kid’s Suspension TT, Reiki Level I

Michelle has been a healer and yoga practitioner for over 20 years, having first learned energy healing techniques that were passed down through her family and her grandmother, who was her first yoga and energy healing teacher while she growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

While she was beginning her career as a singer and actor, Michelle gravitated towards her yoga practice as a way to stay centred, and to help her body keep up with the demands of her work. In 2010, Michelle was injured during sudden turbulence on a flight. It was when those injuries threatened her ability to continue her work, and when traditional treatment options did not appear to offer a full restorative solution that Michelle begun to delve deeper into the possibility of supporting the body’s natural healing abilities through Reiki and Yoga.

It was through embarking on this healing journey that Michelle discovered that her passion for healing and Yoga could help others to live healthier lives, heal their bodies and minds and achieve things they once only dreamed possible.

intro to Ayurveda

A mover for most of her life, through dance, weight training, and sports, Lindsey dove into yoga as a means to unite all of her mind, body and soul. The catharsis discovered on the mat sparked her perpetual curiosity to learn more and evolve.

Lindsey’s classes nurture energy, empathy, and empowerment. She provides mindful cues to guide students into their full potential, focusing on alignment and intuitive movements. Lindsey encourages a full, individualized exploration of subtle mind and body, incorporating the healing modalities of Reiki and Ayurveda wisdom.

A profound connection to yin, the female principle of the universe, is essential to Lindsey’s practice, and balances out her often more dominant yang. Her yoga asana practice is rooted in the foundations of vinyasa, with a commitment to bringing in learnings on the full 8 limbs. With a corporate career in strategy and technology, it is through meditation and movement where she finds balance and wellness.

In 2019, Lindsey completed her 250 Hour YTT with The Flying Yogi, studying lineages such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Hatha, Restorative, and additional certifications in Prop and Chair, Yoga Adjustments and Suspension/Aerial (for both children and adults), as well as numerous meditative and pranayama techniques. She is also a Reiki Master and Teacher, under the Usui Reiki teachings, and has designed and leads the Ayurveda module as part of The Flying Yogi Training Academy.
